UNDP Administrator Ms Helen Clark's visit to Canberra

 UNIC Director Christopher Woodthorpe welcomed UNDP Administrator Helen Clark to Canberra, Australia on the 2 March, 2011.

The following day, Mr. Woodthorpe opened a meeting for Ms. Clark with members of Parliament and Senators through the UN Parliamentary Association. This was then followed by the UNDP/UNIC delegation meeting with the Hon. Richard Marles, Parliamentary Secretary for Pacific Island Affairs.

The delegation then travelled to the AusAID offices where the Administrator presented an all staff address. The day concluded with an NGO round table, organised by the Australian Council for International Development, in collaboration with UNIC Canberra, which was attended by a number of Australia's leading international NGO’s. UNIC then escorted Ms. Clark to a concluding meeting with the AusAID Effectiveness review panel before farewelling the UNDP mission at the airport.

During the visit UNIC Canberra also provided logistical and media support in conjunction with the Australian Government.
