The Australian Association of Jewish Holocaust Survivors and Descendants organised at the Sydney Jewish Museum, an evening to mark the 66th Anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz and the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust.
The UN Information Centre (UNIC) Canberra Director, Christopher Woodthorpe, and UNIC Public Information Officer, Nicholas Flack, were among the guests at the event.
Concluding the moving evening were the testimonies of an Auschwits Survivor, Lotte Weiss and a Russian WW2 Veteran, participating in the liberation of the Eastern Front, Isaac Borinski, who reminded everyone of the past crimes which took place and the importance of ensuring that they will never occur again.
