The Secretary-General’s report, Preventive Diplomacy: Delivering Results, was recently launched with support from the UN Department of Political Affairs (DPA). It describes advances in the field of preventive diplomacy and proposes a forward agenda for strengthening its use as a means of diminishing conflict and its devastating toll.
The report is available in all six official languages
“Prevention,” the Secretary-General told the High-Level Meeting, “is infinitely cheaper than cure – and is one of the smartest, most cost-effective investments we can make.” He said that prevention would remain a fundamental priority in his second term as Secretary-General.
